Doggie Run

This was the run with the pups. Pretty good pace.

1.46 miles and 13:24 time. The beagle was the hold up today. I'm hoping to get her in really good shape so she can run the 5k-9 next year. Keep her healthy and fit is priority number one!

Finally running again

Today I took the dogs for a run, and it felt really good. Upon returning home I locked the mutts in the house and decided to venture out for a run by myself. It was just as exhilarating as the first run. I can run, I guess it was just hard finding the motivation to do the actual running. I'm going to have to stick with it.

Tonight I played in my third C2 AHA hockey game. It seems so much easier than D1. I don't feel like we're all 5-year-olds chasing the puck. My teammates play very good positional hockey and passes are mostly tape to tape. Sounds like a farce, but we looked pretty good tonight.

We could have used some more defense to keep the puck out of our goal 6 times, but we scored 9, so it all worked out. I was on my bum once. I guess those transitions are still a work in progress. However, I felt so much more comfortable with the flat-bottom-V sharpening. If you play hockey, do yourself a favor and get those skates sharpened with the FBV. It makes a world of difference.

The other thing I learned today is I have a short IT band in my hip, according to the chiropractor. I thought I just had one leg that was shorter than the other. Turns out it, it's a muscle band that runs from my butt to my knee that is really tight. I bought a roller to help stretch it out. That's the other reason I wasn't running. My right hip hurt so bad after running I could barely walk.

I'm sure none of this has anything to do with the repeated bashing my hips took while trying to learn 360's at Spirit Mountain when I was 19. At one point, I couldn't lay on either side because they were so banged up. I'm sure that won't come back to haunt me in five years. Either way, I've learned how to spin those threes and make it count!

I'm going to stick with the running for a while and see if it helps with my hockey. I'm counting on everybody who doesn't read this to hold me to it!

Here's my run this afternoon:

Mensa? Maybe.

I was recently thinking about joining Mensa. Well, I'd like to take an IQ test to show that I'm eligible for joining Mensa. In my quest for trying to find said tests, I found this one. I'm not really sure about some of these. They're completely opposite of me, and I was very honest on the test. Here's the results:

Educational Goal Statement Rough Draft

I was the first person in my family to go to college right after high school. I did not finish my degree, and since then my dad has finished his bachelor’s degree. I’ve been back in school off and on after being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps. I finally decided it was time to finish the degree and get into a career path.
I have been enrolled in two community colleges in Minnesota, and I recently graduated from North Hennepin Community College with an Associate of Arts degree. I started with the Law Enforcement program, but I jumped to the other program when I had the opportunity to participate in the L.E.T.O. program with the State Patrol. I also have a background in journalism from my time in the Marine Corps.
I would like to continue my federal service by joining the U.S. Marshal Service. Hence, the reason I’d like to study Criminal Justice and Sociology.
I would like for my degree to encompass some of the socioeconomic struggles facing those who end up as recidivistic offenders. It seems so much emphasis is placed on punishment of offenders instead of rehabilitation. I think there needs to be an understanding of what drives people to continue to offend. Sociology classes will help with that. I have been taking sociology classes through NHCC, and I found Families in Crisis to be one of the best classes I have taken so far.
I hope to gain an insight and the ability to understand what it takes to help with the rehabilitation process. I understand that no matter the amount of education a person receives that it is not a guarantee of understanding, but I hope to make a small difference.
My idea of an educated person is somebody who is empathetic, helpful and offers solutions instead of being a part of the problem. Being able to remember what was read and put it down on paper for a test does not prove to be a useful measure of education. It is what people choose to do with that ability and present it to the world in a useful manner.

Retribution

RETRIBUTION IS JUST A SHORT TIME AWAY!

Take a look at this and just remember elections in November 2010.

1. U.S. House & Senate have voted themselves $4,700 and $5,300 raises.
2. They voted to NOT give you a S.S. cost of living raise in 2010 and 2011.
3. Your Medicare premiums will go up $285.60 for the 2 years.
4. You will not get the 3% COLA: $660/yr.
5. Your total 2-yr loss and cost is -$1,600 or -$3,200 for husband and wife.
6. Over these same 2 years, each Congress person will get $10,000.

Do you feel BETRAYED?

Will your cost of drugs - doctor fees - local taxes - food, etc., decrease? NO WAY.

Congress received a raise and has better health and retirement benefits than you or I.

Why should they care about you or me?
You never did anything about it in the past did you?
Obviously they believe we are simply too stupid or just don't care.
Do you really think that Nancy, Harry, Chris, Charlie, Barney et. al. care about you?
Send the message to these individuals --- “YOU'RE FIRED!”
In 2010 you will have a chance to get rid of the sitting Congress: up to 1/3 of the Senate and 100% of the House! Make sure you're still mad in November 2010 and remind their replacements not to screw up. It is ok to forward this to your sphere of influence if you are finally tired of the abuse.

Maybe it's time for Amendment 28 to the Constitution.

"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States."

Let's get this passed around, folks - these people in Washington have brought this upon themselves! It's time for retribution. Let's take back America.

Aid to Countries

The United States is fiscally broke and can't help our own seniors, veterans, orphans, homeless etc.

Yet, we have a benefit for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents, clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.

In the last month we have provided aid to Haiti, Chile, and Turkey.

Our retired seniors living on a fixed income receive no aid or get any breaks while our government and religious organizations pour hundreds of millions of dollars and tons of food to Foreign Countries!

We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans.

USA, a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without needed meds and mentally ill without treatment.

Imagine if the government gave us the same support they give to other countries.

Jackpot in My Spam Folder

I check my spam folder in my Gmail account quite a bit as they do a really good job of keeping spam out of my inbox. Once in a great while, some of my subscribed to emails get lost in the spam folder. So I peruse the titles, and sometimes I like to read the spam. Usually it's the same old junk. You know the titles of them are always Monster size my penis, Pleasure her for weeks on end, and Cheap Viagra are the most common.

Today I got the email pasted below. Man, I'm excited! I get $3.06 million just for being a foreigner. Who said being an American was bad? Not I! I'm over-joyed at this great possibility of becoming rich. I mean, seriously, how many of you can say you got this email? That's right! None of you. I am sorry, but it may be a while before I write in this blog again because I'm going to be enjoying my $3.06 million.

Attention

Let me start by introducing myself,I am Mrs.Maria Cristina Gamboa , REGIONAL AUDITOR OFFICER BANCO DE ORO UNIVERSAL BANK.I am writing you this letter based on the latest development at my bank, which I will like to bring to your personal edification.I am a top official in charge of client accounts in (EQUITABLE PCI BANK) which is now BANCO DE ORO UNIVERSAL BANK inside the Philippines.the merger was late(2007).The merger is part of a long-term goal of Banco de Oro to become one of the largest names in the Philippine banking industry.

In 2001, my client was going through a horrendous divorce in the United States of America and was on the verge of losing most of his estate to his vicious and diabolical wife.He transferred some funds, ten million two hundred thousand dollars ($10.2m) to a fixed deposit account in my bank under an alias which only the two of us knew about as the confidentiality of the matter was necessary for his protection.

Due to his untimely death in early 2002, the funds have been sitting in the account ever since and will continue to do so perpetually unless we do something about it. My client did not declare any next of kin in his official papers including the paper work of his bank deposit. Against this backdrop, my suggestion to you is that I would like you as a foreigner to stand as the next of kin to our client so that you will be able to receive his funds. The allocation of our money will be as follows: 30%($3.06m) to you for your part in this, 70% for me. Again, I will be in charge of everything else.If you are interested in working with me please contact me via my private e-mail (mrsmcg7@gmail.com) for further details.
